Mission

ACHLI’s mission is to preserve natural and cultural landscapes in sensitive areas within the Iberian Wolf's range, looking towards active contributions from several sectors of society, such as environment organizations, local governments, wind energy promoters and local populations.

ACHLI´s mission is achieved by developing projects that benefit the conservation of the Iberian wolf´s habitat. All projects take into account the current state of the wolf packs within the target areas, as well as the socioeconomic surrounding, which in many cases is essential for the projects' success.

ACHLI manages a conservation fund, called “Iberian Wolf Habitat Conservation Fund” (Wolf Fund). This fund results from contributions made by some of our members to fulfill compensation measures established by environmental authorities. The Wolf Fund is exclusive for supporting Iberian wolf habitat management and conservation projects.

Presently, ACHLI develops its activity in two priority target zones: South of the Douro River and Alto Minho.
