ACHLI – Iberian Wolf Habiat Conservation Association is a non-profit organization, founded on March 9, 2006 by a group of renewable energy developers (Eólica da Cabreira, S.A., Eólica da Arada – Empreendimentos Eólicos da Serra da Arada, S.A. e Eólica de Montemuro, S.A.), who were developing wind energy projects in the Freita, Arada and Montemuro mountains.

In 2010, the Association received several demands to extend its activity beyond its original area, which meant a statutory alteration, enabling ACHLI to expand its territory and consequently brought in new members from different regions.
