This project is developed on a mountainous community land belonging to the parish of Castanheira, Paredes de Coura, district of Viana do Castelo and it is integrated in the Protected Landscape of Corno de Bico. The project area is occupied by beech, chestnut, oak and pine stands, shrublands and pastures.

The project covers a total area of about 118 ha. A contract between the Junta de Freguesia de Castanheira, the Executive Commitee of the Protected Landscape of Corno de Bico and ACHLI was signed. During the validity of the contract several interventions will be carried out with the aim to protect existing forest stands and improve habitat conditions. These interventions may include fuel management, reforestations, pruning, etc.
