Forest Intervention plan - Vidoeiro, Arouca

The Vidoeiro area is a community land (Tebilhão e Cando) that belongs to the Parish of Cabreiros, Arouca. It's a montainous area mostly occupied  by stands of douglis-fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii), and other smaller stands of maritime pine (Pinus pinaster) and European black pine (Pinus nigra), but it is also possible to find Iberian white birch trees along the water lines as well as chestnut and oak trees distributed throughtout the whole area.

Vidoeiro occupies a total area of 45 ha. Over the next ten years several interventions will be carried out that aim to protect this forest land and improve habitat for wildlife. Some of the interventions may be managing vegetation growth, plantations, etc.
